Didn’t taste like the Sun

Love should complete one
But beside you I'm broken
Pieces of myself I don't recognize
I hardly know if those pieces belongs to me
I just want to gather them
Fill up those spaces you created
Only that I'm worried I'll pick up the wrong pieces.
Love should taste like the Sun
But yours taste like anger and sadness.
Leaving me broken by your side.
A glass that keeps on breaking
People say getting hurt makes one stronger.
All it did was make me fragile.
Made me learn to heal fast
But not completely,
Only to be broken again.
Your love is broken
Your love smells of fear
Your love taste like anger.

Love should taste like the sun

Author’s Note: I have no idea what the Sun taste like but apparently this character does.

  1. Another lovely piece about abuse. I loved your piece on MasticadoresIndia. Your pieces are very descriptive. Have a blessed day.

“I Could Be Sun Kissed” or “I shoulda Been Sun Kissed” are possible titles (If love tastes like the sun…) and in keeping with what your character knows about what they want. I’d like a hopeful title no doubt.

🤗 thank you. it’s cathartic trying to discover what that means. you could cast a love spell so to speak, dropping the sunshine into a poem like that. that line is warm. 🥰
